There is truly no age-limit on great sex. Recent research shows that sex is like fine wine — it only improves with age! As we grow older, our confidence improves. We are no longer awkward and scared. Our body image actually improves and most of us start to feel more secure with our physical selves. We also know exactly what we want in the bedroom and what feels good. As age breeds confidence in our bodies, it also makes us more outspoken and we are no longer afraid to say exactly what we want and how we want it.
As the baby boomers reached retirement, freer sexual viewpoints started to emerge. Unlike past generations, the aging boomers have taken their ‘make love, not war’ sentiments into seniorhood.
Women over the age of 40 are reveling in their sexuality. Without the fear of pregnancy, post-menopausal women are finally able to indulge in sex without worry about the risk of an unwanted pregnancy. MSN reports that women over the age of 40 like more sex than they did at a younger age and enjoy spicing it up by having sexual encounters in various unique locations such as outside. Mature women also are more game to try new positions. Daily Mail reports that older women are having the best sex of their lives and not slowing down in their 50s or 60s.
Men are also experiencing greater satisfaction as they age. With the advent of erectile medications, men tend to worry less about gaining and maintaining an erection. Without out fear or anxiety, men are better able to perform in the bedroom and enjoy longer lasting lovemaking.
Sex really does get better with age. Empty nesters have more time to enjoy themselves sexually and in a variety of other ways then they did in their 20s or 30s when they were burdened by children, careers and financial responsibilities. So the good news about aging is that sex is going to improve and reach new heights of satisfaction.
