If you look up the definition of intersex in the National Library of Medicine you’ll likely find the following definition, “Intersex is a group of conditions where there is a discrepancy between the external genitals and the internal genitals (the testes and ovaries).” The term hermaphroditism has also been used in previous decades to define what some medical professionals refer to as a “disorder of sexual development.” As with all socially defined, and so called “disorders” you should consider this term as nothing more than a description. By no means should you feel generalized as person because society hasn’t adequately defined your specific situation.
